State wide Development of a Cybercollaboratory for Small Water System Operators

Principal Investigator: Steve Wilson

Project Staff: Steve Wilson, Brad Larson

Project Period: Oct 2008 Sept 2011
Sponsor: Midwest Technology Assistance Center for Small Public Water Supplies is an online resource for water and wastewater operators. It has links to more than 6000 free reports, factsheets, CD's, spreadsheets, and manuals that are all related to drinking water and wastewater operations. We have done the legwork for the operator so that only relevant, useful information is returned when searching for information. The Web site includes a national calendar of training and meeting events that have been integrated from more than 600 organizations. The site is simple to use, and information can be searched through a series of filters that limit your search to just those things most relevant to the operator's needs. The site is free and all resources on the site are free. Additional services to be added to the site include a careers page to provide resources for high school graduates considering a career in water and/or wastewater operations, a tribal resources page for tribal water operators and those technical assistance providers that provide support for tribal water systems, and a forum for operators to ask and answer questions from their peers.
