McLean and Tazewell Counties Groundwater Monitoring Network

The Illinois State Water Survey, under contract to the the twin municipalities of Bloomington and Normal, has established a groundwater monitoring well network. The ISWS has monitored and maintained the observation well network shown in the map since 1993. The network provides data that can be used to document changes in groundwater levels over time and was installed as part of a large aquifer assessment and modeling project that is described in Cooperative Groundwater Report 19.

Project Publications

Each year, the ISWS submits a letter report to the Mayor of Normal, along with other interested sponsors and interested groups in the area. The letter contains hydrographs of each well, a summary of the information gathered to date, and some analysis of the data where findings warrant it.
